Summary

Über Kafka: »I can only say that the hero of these extremely original and poetic books is a god-searching soul, to whom – strangely and humoristically – the desired land of salvation appears in the form of an inaccessible and complicated bureaucracy, and who never succeeds in getting through of the decisive authorities within this bureaucracy. This conception makes for a quantly humorous and religious effect which always touches me deeply.« Sagt zum Schluss, dass er oft die Erfahrung gemacht hätte, dass Kafka-Leser nicht imstande seien, den persönlichen Charme dieses Werkes zu verstehen; sollte P. zu diesen Lesern gehören, wäre es besser, diese Lektüre beiseitezulegen, als sich davon entmutigen zu lassen.
